As a friendly competition between a friend and I, we decided to write poems about snow and compare them. I decided to post mine for you all to enjoy also. I'll be the first to admit I'm NOT a good poet, and after reading this and hearing it took me a couple hours to write, you'll agree... That being said, I hope you enjoy Snow's Promise!
"As I look out the window on snow covered lands,
My mind wanders back to the reason snow stands.
'Twas sin, that first caused this rare jewel to shine
A flood that did cleanse from all sin and low crime.
All through earth's history, this indelible coating,
Has defiantly lay to withstand all men's doubting,
To proclaim to the world, the news of Salvation,
Repeating Christ's words, from His own Revelation:
"Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as snow,
Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
The same snow that signaled the cleansing of sin,
Is also the promise of lives cleansed within!
So when you look out on the snow covered grass,
Remember the promise God's given to us:
Even as snow came because of man's sin,
It also doth promise a new life with Him!"
